This is a nice opportunity to show you some of the beginning work for a new commission called "The Leper" for a cathedral here in Los Angeles. It's been an idea that I have been working around in my mind for a few years. The Monsignor took a keen interest in my sketches and I have now begun the actual painting. Here is the progress shot of a portion of the painting, laying down the glazes and building up the color on the face, tunic and hair. I'm very pleased with the painting so far. I literally feel as though I am being guided and divinely inspired to paint this.
